                                                           Halloween:

O Dia das Bruxas (Halloween é o nome original na língua inglesa). É um evento tradicional e cultural, que ocorre basicamente em países de língua inglesa, mas com especial relevância nos Estados Unidos, Canadá, Irlanda e Reino Unido, tendo como base e origem as celebrações dos antigos povos (não existem referências de onde surgiram essas celebrações). O halloween é um tipo de celebração pagã dos antigos povos celtas que viveram no território que compreende Inglaterra, França e Alemanha. Primeiramente foi chamado de All Hallow’s Even (noite que antecede o dia de todos os santos) e posteriormente reduzido para Halloween. Os símbolos presentes nesta comemoração são:

Bruxas: são as principais simbologias dessa festa. As histórias contam que as bruxas participavam de festas realizadas pelo diabo, que normalmente eram realizadas em 30 de abril e 31 de outubro. Tal crença chegou aos Estados Unidos por seus colonizadores e a partir daí se espalhou por todo o mundo, tomando várias formas diferentes.

Abóboras e velas: as abóboras simbolizam fertilidade e sabedoria, enquanto as velas servem para iluminar o caminho dos espíritos. Conta a lenda que a prática de cortar a abóbora e colocar uma vela acesa dentro dela surgiu da estória de Jack, homem que gostava muito de beber e que se encontrou com o diabo no dia em que bebeu em demasia. Esperto, aprisionou o diabo em vários locais até o dia em que, de tanto beber, morreu. Sua entrada no céu foi negada e no inferno também, já que humilhava o diabo em vida. A partir daí a alma de Jack passou a perambular pelo mundo. As abóboras iluminadas então passaram a ser utilizadas por Jack para fugir da escuridão e iluminar seu caminho.

Gato Preto: é um símbolo ligado às bruxas, pois elas conseguem se transformar em gatos. Outras superstições acerca dos gatos são que esses são fontes de azar e que também são espíritos de pessoas mortas.

Travessuras ou gostosuras: é uma brincadeira existente desde o século IX. Neste período as pessoas faziam os “bolos das almas” com massa simples e cobertura de groselha para entregar às crianças que, devidamente fantasiadas, batiam de porta em porta para pedir os bolos. Em troca de cada pedaço de bolo, a criança se comprometia a rezar pela alma de um parente de quem lhe ofereceu

Vassoura: é um símbolo do poder feminino em limpar tudo aquilo que traz consequências negativas para a vida, como eletricidade e pensamentos negativos.

Morcego: simboliza a visão que ultrapassa as aparências e consegue ver o íntimo das pessoas.

Maçã: fruta associada aos deuses do amor, é utilizada na festa como símbolo de vida.

As cores mais usadas na festa de halloween também possuem significados que fazem a diferença na noite dos santos:

Laranja: cor que traz vitalidade, energia e força. Acreditam que os espíritos se aproximavam dos que estavam de laranja para  sugar suas energias.

Preto: cor predominante dos magos, bruxas, feiticeiras e sacerdotes do mestre das trevas.

Roxo: simboliza a magia presente em toda a comemoração de halloween.

Halloween (Halloween is the original name in English). It is a traditional and cultural event, which occurs mainly in English-speaking countries, but with particular relevance in the United States, Canada, Ireland and the UK, based on the celebrations and origin of ancient peoples (there are no references whence these celebrations ). The halloween is a kind of pagan celebration of the ancient Celtic people who lived in the territory that comprises England, France and Germany. First was called All Hallows' Even (evening before the day of all saints) and later shortened to Halloween. The symbols present at this celebration are:

Witches: are the main symbols of this festival. The stories tell of witches attending parties held by the devil, which were usually held on April 30 and October 31. This belief came to the United States by their colonizers and from there spread throughout the world, taking many different forms.

Pumpkins and candles: Pumpkins symbolize fertility and wisdom, while the candles are used to light the way of the spirits. Legend has it that the practice of cutting the pumpkin and put a candle inside it appeared the story of Jack, a man who liked to drink and he met the devil the day he drank too much. Smart, the devil imprisoned in various places until the day of both drinking and died. His entry was denied in heaven and hell as well, since the devil humiliated in life. From there the soul of Jack began to wander the world. The pumpkins lit then began to be used by Jack to escape the darkness and light your way.

Black Cat: is a symbol linked to witches, because they can turn into cats. Other superstitions about cats is that these are sources of chance and also are the spirits of dead people.

Trick or treat: it's a joke in existence since the ninth century. During this period people used the "cakes of souls" with simple mass and currant coverage to deliver to children, properly dressed, knocked on doors asking for cakes. In exchange for each piece of cake, the child was committed to pray for the soul of a relative who offered him

Broom: it is a symbol of female power in cleaning everything that brings negative consequences for life, like electricity and negative thoughts.

Bat: symbolizes the vision that goes beyond appearances and gets intimate view of people.

Apple: fruit associated with the gods of love, is used at the party as a symbol of life.

The most commonly used colors halloween party also have meanings that make the difference on the night of the saints:

Orange: color that brings vitality, energy and strength. They believe that the spirits of those who were approached orange to suck your energy.

Black: is the predominant color of wizards, witches, witches and priests of the master of darkness.

Purple: This symbolizes the magic throughout the celebration of Halloween.
